Happy 1st Father’s Day
I knew that Josh would be a good father before we were even dating. In fact, I can remember the first time the thought entered into my mind.
It was November 2007 at the Spunlogic Thanksgiving Potluck. Josh and I had become work friends at this point, and there may or may not have been a little flirting going on, but that was about it. Company events at Spun were always my favorite, because everyone would bring their kids in, and the pot luck was no different.
Shannon, my boss at the time, brought in her adorable daughter, and she was in a very playful mood! She and I were playing in the conference room where everyone was sitting and Josh joined in. Watching him interact with her, I could see the care he had for someone else’s child and it was so sweet. When we were walking down the hall, he told me that he wanted to have kids one day. The tone in his voice and the look in his eyes said it all. And that may or may not be the day that my crush on him got a little stronger.
Growing up, I never really thought I wanted to have kids. It wasn’t until Josh and I started dating and fell in love that a spark lit inside me and something changed. And I’m glad that it did. I wanted to have a child so that Josh could become the father that he was meant to become.
Watching Josh with B every day brings a smile to my face and it completely warms my heart.
He’s tender and loving and the smile that comes over B’s face when he sees Josh is priceless. I can’t help but fall in love with him day after day.
Happy 1st Father’s Day, Josh. Thank you for being an amazing father to our wonderful son. He’s got a great man to look up to, and for that, I’m a lucky momma! I love you!
